Most girls have vivid wedding dreams.

They have already pictured the kind of dress that they will wear: that backless gown beaded with sequins. Or that traditional white with classic corset, plunging neckline, intricate lace details.
They have already smelled the bouquet of vibrant tulips, or creamy ivory calla lilies, or ravishing red garden roses adorning their delicate hands. They have already seen the sparkle of their 1 carat round brilliant cut diamond stud earrings or those South Sea pearls handed down by their grandmothers.

They have already strutted their Manolo Blahniks, or Christian Louboutins, or Jimmy Choos down their imaginary catwalks. They have already visualized how their curls will resemble that of a princess’, or how they will play up their femininity with that Bohemian look. They have already marched to the beat of their wedding theme song. That angelic choir humming songs of cheese in unison with those heavenly strings of violin. Or that upbeat band playing a chirpy romantic song.

They have already chosen a church perfect for their walking down the aisle. A picturesque chapel on top of the hill. Or a brick-layered church near the ocean. They have already made up their minds if it’s gonna be a classic Mercedes Benz. A 1953 Cadillac limousine. Or a horse-drawn carriage. They’ve already figured out what motif or palette they will follow down to the last detail. Is it mint. Or shades of grey. Or vintage glam. Or 1950s retro style.

The fairy tale has already been played on their minds. A forever-after in a dreamy world has already been carved with their pin boards. But I am not that kind of girl. I do not gasp over the idea of a lavish ceremony. Even after watching 1 million Hollywood films, I have never pictured myself walking down the aisle. And even after attending too much weddings, I have never found myself muttering “I want this on my wedding” or “I wish I were a bride too.”  So every time I am asked with the never-ending question “When will you get married?,” I feel like… laughing.

Maybe I am wired differently. Maybe those Disney cartoons failed to hypnotize me when I was young. Maybe I have never believed in fairy tales and marriages. Or maybe I have not yet met a guy who will make me dream of these ridiculous dreams 😛

*But if I were to marry, there would be a rock band and subzero beer for sure 😉 And ok fine, maybe I’d wear a pastel ombre thulle gown.
