Many pizza aficionados consider L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele Restaurant as the best of the best Napoli pizzeria. It opened in Naples in 1870 and has spread the pizza love from plenty of fans all over the world. It even became more popular when it appeared in Eat Pray Love where Julia Roberts’ character declared that she was having a relationship with her pizza.
This pizzeria is always crowded, so be sure to go here when you’re not yet hungry.
TIP: The queue for takeout is always shorter. I ended up ordering a to-go box and it saved me plenty of time. I ate the entire pizza outside the pizzeria 😉
Da Michele offers a very simply menu. They only have margherita and marinara but everything is just so delicious—from its pizza dough to its mozzarella and sauce! And the price is so cheap! Only 4 to 5 euro depending on the size.
What I also loved about Da Michele was that the pizza boys were all very friendly even if the place was packed and busy!
