I never expected Turin to be tur-rific (sorry for the bad pun ;-P ). In my mind, it was just the cheapest option for transit from Madrid to Venezia. But after spending 25 hours in this laid-back city, I realized that Torino is not just a stop-off, it is an alluring sojourn that should be explored longer.
Maybe I got tired of crowded attractions in Spain. And to tour a beautiful city with 0 queues and only few annoying tourists was refreshing.
Here are some of the reasons why I loved Torino so much that I regretted not staying here for a long time:
- Its gelato and chocolates are the BEST.
I’ve tried too many gelatos in Italy but the ones in Torino are simply the best! My taste buds didn’t mind that it was cold and I was shaking. I had to eat my piece of heaven š
I tried gelato and chocolates fromĀ La Bottega Guido Gobino and gelato from Gelateria Alberto Marchetti. I’m still drooling whenever I think of Turin’s sweet desserts. <3
2. Aperitivo and food were sooooo good!
Aperitivo means pre-dinner drinks and snacks. But in Italian tradition, aperitivo is becoming apericena: an all-you-can-eat buffet of delicious Italian food and drinks from the cocktail bar for only 10ā¬!Ā It’s so cheap, filling, and a great way to socialize.
Food around Torino is incredible. I wish I took more photos but I only have my piadina to remember :))
3. Parco del Valentino is one of my favorite parks in the universe.
It’s so peaceful yet it’s full of life– from joggers and strollers to rowers and students having a tan. And compared with other famous parks in Europe, it’s not crowded so you’ll have your own space of zen.
The views are also stunning. I ate breakfast overlooking this amazing river. Best breakfast scenery ever!
The abundance of greens makes it a perfect place to chill and relax š
4. The Airbnb I stayed in Torino was one of my favorites!Ā
It’s so clean, spacious, and charming <3
And the best part? This cute friendly dog is the sweetest š
5. The Museo Nazionale del Cinema is a cinema haven!

7. The views of Turin at night are spectacular fromĀ Santa Maria del Monte (Monte dei Cappuccini).
8. Piazza Vittorio Veneto will make you want to people-watch and relax here all afternoon.
9. Sightseeing at Piazza Castello is also enjoyable!
9. Drinking tea/coffee at Piazza Bodoni is also relaxing.
11.Ā Learning history at Palatine Gate is also fun.
12. The Shroud of Turin can be seen atĀ Cattedrale di San Giovanni Battista or Turin Cathedral.
13. The different architecture of two adjacent churches are interesting– San Carlo Borromeo and Santa Cristina.
Strolling at Piazza San Carlo is also fun.
14. Castello del Valentino, the ancient castle located at Parco del Valentino, isĀ one of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy.Ā 
15. Another place to relax and chill is the Giardini Reali Superiors. So quiet and calm!
16. Torino has plenty of museums! I wish I had plenty of time but I only got to see the facade of Musei Reali Torino & Museo Egizio. Another museum worth visiting is theĀ Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile.

17. There are so many buildings and attractions with interesting architecture and history like Palazzo Carignano…

18. Ponte Vittorio is so lovely that you’ll end up taking plenty of selfies here :))

19. Walking will never tire you for it will surprise you with incredible sights around Torino.
Excellent food, 0 crowds, interesting museums, charming Airbnb, incredible architecture, quiet parks and piazzas— You know why I love Torino. 25 hours was definitely too short for a lovely city but I hope that I’ll be back soon, dear gelato & T(e)or-rific Torino!
