Sweet Fantasy

Dressed in black lacy lingerie,
Armoured with your red crimson lipstick,
You smoked a cigar and whispered his name.

Don’t be shy, he told you.
So you shaped words that he wanted to hear.
Quickly, easily, effortlessly… he craved for more.
He drew another world to woo you in his sweet little fantasies.
An escape from reality so he could momentarily forget
                                                                               about me,
and have something to dream about.

He made sure that you were his first and last rendezvous.
Your body was enough to keep him awake for the night,
Never mind that you were a stranger.
An exchange so harmless and innocent,
Yet you quickly roused his desires.

He unmasked you, you clever stranger.
While I couldn’t get a hold of him.
He itched for your caresses, your dreamy replies, anything really, anything from you.
While i quietly died to keep
                             you
                             You and him alive.

I did have one, it just didn’t work out
Life is sad but you just have to get on with it
Otherwise you will end up stuck
And living in the past, not able to move forward
You just have to get on with your life though
Otherwise you won’t be able to see the good things in front of you

I saw the good things when I was with him—
The enthusiasm in his voice whenever he greeted me good morning,
The pure joy in his laughter when we exchanged banters,
The warmth in his glances when he said that he loved me,
The contentment in his embraces when we shared our lazy afternoons,
The sincerity in his eyes when he carved promises and dreams.

But all these were.
All these were nothing.
Nothing.
But my sweet sweet fantasy.
